Nine panels. Nine ways a woman was told she had no one to blame but herself.

This piece pulls directly from vintage comic book culture — a world where women without a partner weren't just lonely, they were the problem. Too old-fashioned. Too vain. Too plain. Too much. Never enough. The panels say it all, and that's exactly the point.

This is part of my "Pulp Fission: Classic Comics Reconstructed" series. Each piece in the series is created from a library of over 35,000 titles, panels, and captions curated from thousands of public domain Mid-century comic books.
