Here’s how “The Invite” came together. Two curators, L. Croskey and Irene Hernandez-Feiks, each invited 20 artists. Then those 40 artists each invited one more artist of their choice. The result is a show with 80 artists, and you get to come see who made the cut.

My invitation came from L.C., who asked me to show Doomtown. This piece has spent the last three years in Las Vegas on loan at The Atomic Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate. Now it’s home in Los Angeles, and this is its first showing since the return trip.

My invite went to Jeannine Chanin-Penn, an artist with a professional design background and an impressive eye for collage. She cuts, layers, and composes like the whole thing was always meant to fit together. I’m excited to be in another show with her.
